My sister Summer Storm aka Tammy Jo Peters has passed following a short battle with cancer. I do not have her gift for words. She is and will always be missed by her family, friends and fans.
BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – On Monday October 2, 2017, Tammy Jo Peters, 56, of Blythewood, S.C. (formerly of Colrain, MA) lost her hard fought battle with cancer surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Tammy was born on March 29, 1961 to Wilbur Lester and Vicki Sharon (Boland) Peters of Harrisburg, PA. She graduated from Mount Miguel High School (CA) as part of the class of 1979. She then joined the United States Army where she proudly served 7 years as a Communication Sargent. While serving, she met and married the love of her life Charles Edward Peters. They were married on November 15, 1982 in El Paso, Texas. They welcomed their daughter, Andrea Marie (Peters) Kelleher on May 1, 1985.
She attended Greenfield Community College for Business Management. She served as President of the Colrain Volunteer Ambulance Association, Inc. Tammy had worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina for the past 13 years. Most recently, she became a published author under her pen name “Summer Storm”. She was an avid hunter, who recently fulfilled a dream of hers on a hunt with her husband Charlie. She was famous for her blue ribbon pickles and salsa, which she grew, harvested, and canned herself.
Tammy is survived by her soul mate of the past 35 years Charles E. Peters, (55) of Blythewood, S.C., (formerly of Colrain, MA) their beloved daughter, Andrea Marie (Peters) Kelleher (32) , her husband Devon M. Kelleher and their son Deegan Michael Kelleher (10), of Shelburne Falls, MA, her loving parents Wilbur Lester and Vicki Sharon (Boland) Peters of Hurricane, UT, sister Sharon Kathleen Terry and her children and their families, brother Jeffrey Alan Peters and his wife Trisha Ann Ybarra Peters and their children, brother Noel Daniel Peters, his wife Stephanie Peters and their children, brother-in-law Michael Peters and wife Amanda Peters and their son, sister-in-law Terrie Lynn (Peters) Billiel, brother-in-law Michael Billiel and their children and families, and sister- in-law Tammy (Peters) Stevens and her family.
Tammy was preceded in death by her beloved sister Deborah Dawn Peters (CA).
Tammy’s final wish was for no service to be held. She wants everyone who has been a part of her amazingly beautiful life to celebrate her and not to mourn her.
